Season 2 started on October 21, 2026 at 16:30 UTC and runs until November 4, 2026. It is the biggest update since launch. Here is what changed and what it means for your runs.

Two new maps
- Storm Coast, home of Zapdos.
- Celestial Glacier, home of Articuno.
Zapdos and Articuno are the bosses of the new maps, and each map adds six new guardians (12 in total). If you cannot get into the new maps, check the unlock order on the maps page: a bug that blocked entry was fixed in patch 0.8.8.
Both legendary birds are part of the legendary unlock chain, so Season 2 is the time to work on them. See how to unlock the legendaries.
Move fusions
Season 2 adds 106 move fusions. Level two moves to their maximum, then combine them at Bill’s Machine into a single, stronger fused move.
What this means for builds:
- Plan your level-up picks around a pair of moves you want to fuse, instead of spreading points across many.
- Fusing frees up a move slot, which makes the fourth move slot in the Lab even more valuable.
24 new items
Two dozen new items join the pool, which shifts which builds are strongest. Expect the best picks to change over the first days of the season as players test them.
Cheaper Lab and more Stardust
Lab upgrades cost less, and runs give more Stardust. If you stopped playing because progress felt slow, this is a good moment to come back. Our beginner guide has a spending order for your first Stardust.
Lavender Tower Night (Halloween event)
The Halloween event Lavender Tower Night is a seven-floor tower climb with Gengar waiting at the top. Each floor gets harder, so bring a build with healing or shields.
What to do first in Season 2
- Spend saved Stardust now that the Lab is cheaper.
- Pick a move pair and go for your first fusion.
- Try Storm Coast and Celestial Glacier, and start on the bird challenges.
- Climb Lavender Tower before the event ends.
